Parent Meeting: There are two Sundays a month where meetings happen at the church. The first Sunday is a Parent Meeting. Parents are intentionally placed into small groups to learn and form discussion with. While only one parent is required to attend, both are highly encouraged to do so-- which is why childcare is provided.
Community Meeting: The second of the two Sunday meetings is a Community Meeting. This is a meeting to share a simple meal as a community and reflect on the content of the month, parents and children together. This is also a place for children to witness how other families prioritize their Catholic faith similarly to their own family.
Disciple Groups: Parents are placed into small groups and these groups are encouraged to intermingle their families together outside the context of a church. We ask the parents to prioritize one meeting every other month to share a meal or activity together, as a part of their commitment to Family of Faith.
Classroom Meeting: While the parents are in their own meeting, children will be in classrooms respective to their age group. They will be taught the first lesson of each month's concepts with their teachers.
Community Meeting: Children will spend time sharing a meal with their parents and other families for the first half of the meeting. The last half of the meeting will be spent doing fun activites.
At-Home Lesson: Parents are expected to teach their child at least one lesson at home every month, in addition to implementing the ideas and materials offered to the family for that month. There are several activities offered in the Family of Faith Activity Book, for children. It is expected that they receive one lesson at the church and one lesson at home with their parents, as well as any additional activities the family may want to do together. It's all about bringing the faith home and transforming everyday life!
