Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation involves:

• The curriculum which is Decision Point developed by Dynamic Catholic, https://dynamiccatholic.com/confirmation/ The curriculum is assessable three different ways: online, through a mobile device, and in print.

• Weekly Sunday gatherings are from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the parish office building. Our Confirmation Youth Group provides Christian fellowship with their peers as they journey towards the Sacrament. Our Confirmation Youth share a meal (dinner is provided) in an environment that encourages an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ. There are no gatherings on holiday weekends & spring break. 

• Parents will meet monthly (with their son or daughter) prior to the regularly scheduled gathering of Confirmation Youth Group. The Church teaches that parents are the primary educators of their children in all matters, especially faith. Therefore, parental involvement is a requirement. We will meet in the parish center from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Three adults can attend at a time (both parents and a sponsor), but at least one adult must attend with the Confirmation Candidate (a parent or a sponsor).

• An approved service project that your son or daughter chooses based on their abilities, their passion, and the needs of the community. There is no minimum hour requirement—but it is to be thought-out and approved before beginning and completed before Confirmation (tentatively scheduled for March 31, 2020, please see Your Service Project link for more information).

• Connecting with the wider Church through Archdiocese sponsored youth gatherings (this is in lieu of the traditional confirmation retreat).  For example, the Rise-Up Rally. Here is last year’s link, https://archdpdx.org/events/rise-up-rally . These area wide youth events will be made available as they are offered through our Archdiocese. And Confirmation Youth will need to attend 2 events during the year.

•  Confirmation candidates will write a letter to the Archbishop prior to Confirmation.  Guidelines and details to follow.
