Readers are members of the laity who proclaim the written Word of God in the Sacred LIturgy.
 
Through proclamation, the Word of God is alive with power, achieving the sanctification of those to whom it is proclaimed and giving glory to God whose creative Word brought all good things into being.
 
Guidelines and practical training for this extraordinary ministry are provided. Readers receive a workbook with the readings for the current liturgical year as a resource in their preparation.
 
Adults and high school students who have made their Confirmation and are in good standing with the Church (if married, married in the Church) are invited to serve as Readers.
